Islamabad: Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) has invited French investors to invest in the IT, tourism, energy, and agriculture sectors of Pakistan, according to news published on April 20.

ICCI President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari met with French Ambassador Nicolas Galey to discuss matters related to enhancing economic relations and bilateral trade between both countries. During the meeting, the ICCI President disclosed that the existing volume of trade with France is around USD 2 billion. He went on to say that trade between Pakistan and France is not up to its full potential and it could be enhanced further.
Moreover, the president opined that strong business linkages between the private sectors of both countries will help explore new vistas of mutual cooperation. The news source mentioned that Pakistan has a huge market of consumers, approximately 223 million, and France should invest in the country to capitalise on it.

ICCI is planning to organise a Pakistan-France Business Forum in a bid to improve business relations. For the Forum, French firms will be invited to share their experiences. ICCI President Bakhtawari invited the French ambassador to visit ICCI to interact with the business community.
