Lahore: The Punjab government has launched the first phase of its free housing scheme, approving the allocation of 1,892 three-marla plots for homeless and low-income individuals across 22 districts.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced on Thursday that the initiative aims to provide shelter to the underprivileged, ensuring access to land for those in need. The plots will be distributed in 33 housing schemes across the province.

The allocation of plots across different regions is as follows:
- Rawalpindi Division: 658 plots in five housing schemes across four districts
- Faisalabad Division: 288 plots in four housing schemes across five districts
- Lahore Region: 518 plots in five housing schemes across three districts
- Bhakkar Region: 131 plots in seven housing schemes
- Multan Region: 270 plots in nine housing schemes across five districts
- Bahawalpur Region: 27 plots in three housing schemes
CM Maryam Nawaz has directed authorities to expedite the process, ensuring swift land allocation to eligible beneficiaries. The initiative marks a significant step in the government’s broader agenda to provide affordable housing and uplift marginalized communities in Punjab.
