Islamabad: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has announced the construction of model houses and villages in the flood-affected areas of South Punjab, news sources reported on September 13.

The federation will also contribute to the establishment of clean water drinking programmes to save valuable lives. FPCCI President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh was updated on the continuing efforts and damage caused by the flood during a visit to the affected villages of Layyah and Dera Ghazi Khan in South Punjab. According to the briefing, more than 3 million children’s lives are currently at risk due to drinking contaminated water.

It is worth noting that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has announced the construction of model communities in South Punjab for flood victims. The government has also announced monetary compensation for anyone affected by the disaster, which includes agricultural loss.
