Islamabad: The Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce (FPCCI) has vowed to make Gwadar ‘a model city’ and to facilitate the Balochistan government in port and shipping operations to spur socio-economic development in the region, according to news sources.
The decision was undertaken in a meeting headed by the FPCCI officials. As per the reports, it was also decided to prioritise the Gwadar Port operations, Afghan transit facilitation, movement of cargo from Balochistan through the western corridor of CPEC, international trans-shipment policy and tax policy for Gwadar. The committee also resolved to fix any issues relating to port and shipping operations in Pakistan.

The respective Standing committee(s) of FPCCI will be referred with the specific issues discussed for consideration.
Reportedly, it was decided that the convenor of the committee, Saiyed Shahzad, would connect with all government ministries, authorities and organisations in order to provide remedy for the pending cases awaiting decisions. In addition, a regional office of FPCCI would also be established in Gwadar to facilitate the business community.
