Karachi: The President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Engineer Daroo Khan Achakzai has emphasised the need to promote tourism in Pakistan, according to a news source. He propagated this advice because tourism has the potential to boost national income, alleviate poverty, and generate employment.

Quoting official statistics, he stated that the tourism industry contributes 2.7% of the national GDP. He discussed the immense potential of tourism in Pakistan, with its topography, historical monuments, picturesque areas, and diverse weather patterns. If these factors are adequately explored, then the tourism industry can significantly contribute to the national economy.

He also appreciated the religious diversity of Pakistan, talking about the potential of religious tourism in the country, and appreciated initiatives such as the Kartapur Corridor.
