Multan: The Parks & Horticulture Authority (PHA) Multan has declare four public parks in the city to be heritage sites, a news source reported. To this effect, the authority has notified Bagh Langay Khan, Aam Khaas Bagh, Shah Shams Park, and Qila Kuhna Qasim Park to be the city’s cultural heritage sites.

According to the announcement, PHA has initiated efforts to preserve the historical glory of the parks. In this regard, PHA Director General (DG) Muhammad Afzal said that the authority had begun the beatification and restoration work at the Qila Kuhna Qasim Park. He added that they would soon start work at the Shah Shams Park.
DG Afzal highlighted that the Bagh Langay Khan and the Aam Khas Bagh both shared a ‘heritage status’ since these were established during the Mughal era. He added that some of the trees in these parks were over 100 years old. PHA would also install swings for children in these parks, he said.

On the other hand, the PHA DG revealed that beautification of model roads was underway in the city. He added that they had planted over 200 large trees at Sahu Chowk, Old Shujabad Road, and Qadirpur Road.
Additionally, the DG stated that PHA had begun the beautification work on the entry and exit points of Multan in relation to the spring season and the Pakistan Super League (PSL) event.
