Gujranwala: Four new grid stations established by Gujranwala Electric and Power Company’s (GEPCO) have become functional, according to a news report. The approval for these four grid stations at Malakwal, Daska, Siranwali and Head Marala had been given a few years ago. After their, completion the count of GEPCO’s functional grid stations has risen to 62.
According to the report, Gujranwala division’s six districts had 58 grid stations which were catering to 3.2 million consumers. However, due to increase in number of consumers, GEPCO was facing issues in providing for new connections, due to which these new grid stations were approved. This will help reduce line losses and tripping in the system.
