Karachi: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto on Monday inaugurated four infrastructural developments called ‘Mega Karachi Projects’ in the city, according to news sources. These projects include Korangi No 2.5 Flyover, Korangi No 5 Flyover, Haider Ali Underpass and various roads constructed around Cant Station.

The ceremony to inaugurate these projects was held at the Rashid Latif Stadium in Korangi. Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah and other government officials were all present at the occasion.

According to reports, the above-mentioned projects have been completed at a cost of PKR 1.74 billion. Out of the total amount, PKR 420 million were spent on the construction of roads around the Cant Station, while the Haider Ali Underpass was completed at a cost of PKR 660 million.

Addressing the ceremony, Bilawal Bhutto said that the provincial government was committed to providing better transport facilities to the people of Karachi. He also instructed Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar to halt the anti-encroachment operations currently underway in the city in order to prevent the displacement of people in cold weather.
