Islamabad: The Ministry of Planning & Development has informed the senate committee on planning and development that 400 unapproved projects worth PKR 125 million have been held up by the government, a news source reported. The projects on which 10% of the work had been completed have been held up, and will be focused on in the next year.
The dropped projects include the construction of Mansehra and Bannu airports, Phase III of Islamabad Expressway Signal Free project, and provision of water to Islamabad and Rawalpindi from the Indus River System. A few projects relating to CPEC have also been dropped from the development budget, even though CPEC has been assigned an extra PKR 3-4 billion under the budget.
