Mansehra: The Nazim of Torghar District Dilroz Khan laid the foundation stone for district health offices and launched a social welfare programme in the area on Wednesday, according to news sources.
After the groundbreaking ceremony in Judbah, the nazim announced to the assembly that the construction of district health offices will promote proper health infrastructure in Torghar, and offer quality healthcare to the locals. He said that 150 employees, including doctors and paramedics, will be recruited in the district by the health department.
He revealed that the setting up of these district health offices will cost PKR 42 million, and two rural health centres were already in the final phases of construction.

Khan also said that despite being declared a settled district seven years ago, this newly launched social welfare programme is the first step taken to have a positive impact on the lives of Torghar’s residents. Meanwhile, he also distributed sewing machines amounting to PKR 40 million to 517 deserving women at a ceremony held at the district office.
He announced that under this social welfare programme, the district government will pay a dowry of PKR 50,000 to 180 girls each during a ceremony that will be held within the next month. The nazim also announced the distribution of crutches, hearing aid devices, and wheelchairs to over a thousand differently-abled people.

The nazim expressed his conviction that progress on these development schemes approved in the Fiscal Year 2019-20 will benefit the local residents and uplift the district.
