Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Ahmed Khan Buzdar on Monday (July 6) revealed that Prime Minister Imran Khan has laid the foundation stone marking the start of construction work at Lahore Ring Road Southern Loop-III, according to a news source.

The CM shared this information with Federal Minister for Industries and Production Muhammad Hammad Azhar who called on him at his office to discuss the progress work on various ongoing projects. Buzdar told Minister Azhar that the provincial government is fully focused on completing development projects in backward areas.

It is pertinent to mention here that the CM shared no further details on when was the foundation stone laid. Not to mention that the Lahore High Court issued stay order on the land acquisition process for the project on June 28 on accounts of unapproved changes in the ring road’s SL-III route. The Lahore Ring Road Authority awarded the LRR SL-III construction contract to the National Logistics Cell on June 11.

CM Buzdar further informed Minister Hammad work on the ongoing development work at Firdous Market Underpass and mentioned that sewerage system in Lahore will also be improved. This is in addition to the fact that development work in underway in development of 13 special economic zones and industrial estates in various areas of Punjab.
