Chitral: Malakand Division Commissioner Riaz Khan Mehsud has laid the foundation stone for setting up a tourist facilitation central in Chitral’s resort town Nagar, a news source reported. The project is conceived by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in a bid to promote tourist activities in the region.

The facilitation centre will feature three rooms, a kitchen and a lawn, where the local and international tourist will be allowed to stay for a brief time. They can shop, and explore the area before they head to other parts of the province. additionally, the provincial government approved 11 new tourism zones in August to promote tourism.
The KP government has recently taken several measures to promote tourism, and facilitate local and international tourists visiting the northern areas of Pakistan. In this regard, the provincial government launched Pakistan’s first tourism app in July, and finalized a law to set up a tourism authority this month.
