Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has laid the foundation stone for the Peshawar Rapid Bus Service project, according to a publication. The bus service will provide modern transit facilities to the people at economic rates.
Under this project, which is estimated to cost PKR 57 billion, 300 buses will be routed between Chimkini and Hayatabad, via GT Road on a 26 kilometres long track. The project is to be completed within six months. These busses will have special compartments for women, allowing approximately 500,000 commuters to travel on a daily basis.
In order to avoid inconvenience for the citizens, a traffic plan has been devised, according to which traffic will be run on a single road, while on busy roads such as GT Road, Dalazak Road, Charsadda Road and Pajagai Road, the traffic will be diverted.
