Faisalabad: Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Chairman Sheikh Ijaz Ahmed recently laid the foundation stone for a 6-kanal masjid, Jamia Masjid Al-Husnain, in Block A3 of FDA City.
Reportedly, the scheme was launched in 2005 and possession was expected in 2007. However, the locality just has two partially-constructed houses till date and still lacks basic utilities such as electricity and water.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) took notice of this and seized project records from the FDA officials. According to a news source, officials began work on the scheme fearing stern action from NAB.
The masjid will be completed within 8 months and accommodate 800 people, stated the source.
