Lahore: The foundation stone of the 10-storey high Lahore High Court (LHC) Complex will be laid on December 10, reported a news source. The foundation stone will be laid by LHC Chief Justice Muhammad Anwar-ul-Haq.
The LHC expansion was announced back in November this year and it is the first ever expansion of the court’s premises since its inception in the late 1800s. Under this project, the court will have a 10 storey high complex spanning five kanals. The project has received related approvals from the Government of Punjab, Punjab Directorate of Archaeology, and other departments concerned. The new building will be constructed in the same theme of the LHC’s existing design.
The complex will serve as the office space for LHC, and it will also feature a library, which is to become the largest library for judges in Asia. The project is estimated to cost PKR 825 million.
