Quetta: The Chief Minister (CM) of Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan Alyani laid the foundation stone of the Green Energy Project Phase III, currently being executed under the Gwadar Development Project, on Friday, according to news sources.

When speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr Alyani declared this initiative an important step towards the progress of Balochistan. He said that 2019 will prove to be the year of Gwadar’s development, as multiple mega projects are being executed under the Federal Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) including, Gwadar International Airport, Gwadar Master Plan and Eastbay Expressway.

He also stated that any development project in Gwadar has positive implications on the entire region, and that this Green Energy Project will cover the energy requirements of the province.
The CM declared Gwadar to be one of the top emerging investor-friendly cities in the world. He pledged full cooperation from the local government to investors who are interested in Gwadar, and hinted that new reforms (like one-window-operation) are underwork to launch a new governing system for the port city.

He also added that the Balochistan government is using all its resources to strengthen its departments’ capacity and to initiate the Gwadar Smart City project.
