Karachi: Karachi Administrator Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Sunday announced the construction of a road from Central District to East District, news sources reported. The 5.5-kilometre road will be constructed before June 30 with a budget of PKR 450 million.

Reportedly, Wahab further stated that the provincial administration has set aside funds for the building of the Shahra-i-Noor Jahan in the Central District. The project has already been allotted PKR 1 billion, and the foundation stone will be set on April 21. Furthermore, he stated that the municipal government is devoted to the development of recreational spaces and the repair of historic structures.
Mr Wahab said that the administration has so far added 25 parks to the city’s infrastructure. He opined that these steps will improve the appearance of the city, while also providing greater recreational options for the inhabitants.

On Sunday, he also laid the groundwork for a road rehabilitation and reconstruction project stretching from Cafe Pyala Gulberg Chowrangi to Rashid Minhas Road UBL Sports Complex. In addition, he said that the government has released funds for the construction of Iqbal Park Block-14 Federal B Area for which PC-1 had been prepared.
