Karachi: Federal IT & Telecom Minister Syed Amin-ul-Haque laid the foundation stone for the country’s largest IT Park at the project site near Karachi Airport, according to news published on November 8.

As per the details, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has provided the land for the IT Park project on lease for making the city a gateway for an innovative future. It was mentioned that the lease can be extended for another 20 years. The IT Park project will house more than 200 tech companies and create employment opportunities for 20,000 young IT professionals, costing PKR 42 billion. Reportedly, IT Park Karachi is an 11-storey development that covers a total area of 106,449 square meters.
IT Minister, speaking at the event, stated that this project is the largest of its kind, which will benefit professionals and companies across the country. He added that the IT Park project was approved by the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) last year in June and is expected to be completed by June 2026.

Moreover, the federal minister stated that these parks provide a place where innovative businesses can develop and prosper. He further added that developments like these must meet the basic infrastructure requirements like ample working space and clean facilities.
