Islamabad: During its first meeting held on July 12, the Implementation Committee formed for Diamer-Bhasha Dam and Mohmand Dam has approved the formation of five subcommittees, a news source reported. The meeting was presided over by Wapda’s Chairman, who is also the Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dam Implementation Committee Chairman, General (R) Muzammil Hussain. Important officials representing Ministry of Water Resources, Finance Division,Prime Minister Office Joint Secretary, Planning Division, Chief Secretary Gilgit Baltistan, and the Federal Board of Revenue also attended the meeting.
The meeting was briefed on the committee’s framework and draft terms of reference, while supervision of the projects and different measures planned in this regard were also discussed.
he five subcommittees, Land Acquisition and Resettlement Committee, Finance Committee, Procurement Committee, Security Committee, and Coordination Committee, will give the Implementation Committee a briefing on their respective tasks on July 20 and submit a report on July 23. The final report by the Implementation Committee will be presented to the Supreme Court on July 24.
