Lahore: The authorities have decided to transfer land owned by the Forest Department for a wastewater treatment plant in Shahdara to the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), in exchange for which the Forest Department will be given land owned by the Livestock Department – a news source reported.

The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by the Provincial Minister of Punjab for Revenue Malik Muhammad Anwar. The meeting discussed the recommendations of the committee formed to present a report on the water treatment plant.
The complete list of recommendations will now be tabled before the cabinet for approval.

Speaking on the occasion, the Revenue Minister said that the treatment plant in Shahdara will help resolve all the sewerage problems of the area.
The meeting was also attended by Secretary Housing, the Managing Director of WASA and representatives of the Forest, Livestock and Revenue departments.
