Rawalpindi: The Punjab Forest Department has announced its decision to build 10 mini-dams and water reservoirs in the forest compounds spread throughout the Murree, Kahuta, Kotli Sattian, and Kallar Syedan tehsils of the Rawalpindi Division, a news source reported on October 15.

According to the details shared, the Paidar Division of the Forest Department will develop these facilities through its own funds. The water collected from these reservoirs will be used in fire-fighting equipment, to irrigate the forest compounds and nearby crops, and to fulfil the nourishment needs of cattle.

Speaking to the media, Paidar Division’s representative Muhammad Nauman stated that the construction of these reservoirs had begun and a number of these schemes would reach completion by year end.
