Rawalpindi: The Excise & Taxation department has decided to conduct forensic audit of commercial properties and plazas in the district, a news source reported. The audit will be done on the instructions of Punjab government.

A 4-member audit team has been formed for the purpose. The team will survey and measure the properties again to recalculate the property taxes. The audit team will present its reports to Punjab government and Secretary Excise Punjab.
Administrative action will be taken against officials underwriting the property tax for the commercial properties.
Director Excise Enforcement Headquarters Mushtaq Afridi will lead the audit team. The team will obtain the record of commercial units in all the four zones of Rawalpindi and then launch its survey.

New measurements of the commercial property will be done with the help of laser machines and it will be compared with the existing record of property tax.
