Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Muhammad Azam Khan has called for the acceleration of work on foreign-funded development projects to ensure their timely completion, reported a news source on September 27.

The details entail a significant meeting as further development as it was reportedly focused on reviewing the progress of foreign-funded projects in KP. The meeting provided updates on the status of foreign-funded development projects and related matters. CM Khan instructed administrative secretaries to regularly monitor the progress of foreign-funded projects within their respective departments to identify and address any obstacles hindering project implementation.
According to the meeting, the Annual Development Programme for the current fiscal year includes a total of 66 foreign-funded development projects with a combined worth of PKR 849 billion. Out of this, PKR 114 billion has been allocated for these projects in the current fiscal year, with PKR 10.9 billion released to date.
Furthermore, the Kurram Tangi Water Resource Development Project was highlighted as of significant importance, and CM Khan directed relevant authorities to convene a special meeting to expedite progress on this critical initiative. He emphasized the importance of infrastructure development projects in merged areas and stressed that their timely completion would benefit local residents.

Some other highlights included the details regarding development projects across various sectors, including agriculture, public health engineering, elementary and secondary education, power and energy, health, local government, road communication, tourism, irrigation, forestry, home affairs, industries, labour, and multi-sectoral development.
