Commenting on the development, The Alpine Club of Pakistan (ACP) Secretary Karrar Haidri stated that the five-member team, led by German climber Felix Berg, would attempt to summit the previously unclimbed 6500-metre-high peak in Shimshal Valley.
Haidri further revealed that this was the country’s first foreign expedition since the outbreak of COVID-19. Additionally, he stated that more European teams would arrive in the coming days with the end of the summer season in September, making several peaks inaccessible.
