Lahore: The authorities concerned have started the delivery of food aid to the COVID-19 quarantine centres located within the city as part of the measures taken under the government’s Ehsaas Programme, a news source reported. Special Assistant to Prime Minister (PM) on Social Protection & Poverty Alleviation Dr Sania Nishtar revealed the development via Twitter on Thursday.

In her tweet, Nishtar highlighted that all partners of the government working on the Ehsaas Programme would follow the policy of ‘leaving no one behind’ and providing support without discrimination.
The PM’s special assistant explained that the lockdown imposed to control to spread of the novel coronavirus had badly affected the daily wage earners, labourers, small vendors, and domestic helpers in the country.

Recently, PM Imran Khan had also launched an information portal for the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme. This portal features all the details on the disbursements the government has conducted under the Ehsaas initiative to help the underprivileged overcome financial challenges during the coronavirus lockdown.
