Islamabad: International organisations, western countries, and tech firms have announced millions of dollars for the flood victims in Pakistan, news sources reported. The donors promised the funds to be used for the rehabilitation, medical and house construction in the affected areas across the country.

According to reports, the United Kingdom (UK) has contributed GBP 15 million and Denmark has provided DKK 10 million to flood victims. In addition, the digital giant Google has pledged USD 500,000 towards the country’s flood victims.
Moreover, Apple Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tim Cook committed USD 160 million in flood relief funding. Pakistan has also received USD 30 million from the United States of America (USA) and relief and rescue supplies from Turkiye, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, and other countries. In addition, many political parties and non-resident Pakistani organisations have committed millions of dollars to help people around the country.

It is important to note that following the disastrous monsoon rains in August, the country was struck by floods, forcing a large number of people to move. According to official estimates, a total of 33 million people have been directly affected, with USD 10 billion in material damage as a result of crop failure and infrastructural losses.
