Islamabad: The Federal Government of Pakistan has decided to provide 1.59 million new electricity connections during the fiscal year 2018-19, reported a news source. Out of the planned 1.59 million connections, 1.42 million will be for domestic use.
According to a document issued by the authorities concerned, 130,477 will be provided to industries while 12.778 be meant for the commercial units. In current fiscal year, 14,675 villages received connections for electricity out of the total of 790,050 connections. In this regard, 1,157 kilometre long electricity lines for 358 KV wires were also laid during the year.
In the next fiscal year that starts from July 1, 2018, 1,269 kilometre long transmission lines for 500 KV and 200 KV electricity will be laid.
