Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has announced that the final draft of Punjab’s first tourism policy is ready, a news source reported. The policy will be announced soon.
He added that no special steps had been taken for the promotion of the tourism sector, previously. The CM informed that for realising this end, 27 rest houses of the irrigation department have been opened for public use. These rest houses can be booked online.
Recently, the Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) also inaugurated new tourism spots and completed several conservation projects at historical sites in the city. The conservation efforts were focused on the Lahore Fort, where the Barood Khana, Royal Kitchens, Royal Toilets, Western Suites, Musaman Gate, Jahangiri Quadrangle, and the Deewan-e-Aam were attended to.
For furthering the improvement of the Walled City, WCLA’s Building Control Wing conducted twenty-five operations to remove illegally constructed commercial plazas in the area.
