Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Thursday received a briefing on the first phase of the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project, a news source reported. According to the details revealed, the project (to be constructed on 5,000 acres of land) is expected to generate PKR 400 billion in revenue for the government.

The PM was chairing a review meeting. Federal Ministers Senator Shibli Faraz and Ali Haider Zaidi, Naya Pakistan Housing Authority Chairman Lt. General (retired) Anwar Ali Hyder and Pakistan Islands Development Authority Chairman Imran Amin were all present at the occasion.

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister Dr Salman Shah, Special Assistant to Punjab CM Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Ravi Urban Development Authority Chairman Rashid Aziz and a number of other officials attended the meet through a video link. The prime minister was informed that 3,000 acres will be used to develop anti-flood initiatives, whereas the remaining 2,000 will be utilized for major city developments. The first phase of the project has been named Sapphire Bay and the purchase of land and road work for the project has also been launched.
