Islamabad: Progress can finally be seen on the signal-free corridor from Zero Point to Rawat, with pillars in place at the I-8 Interchange.
Reportedly, the expressway will be expanded to 10 lanes. Two overpasses and seven underpasses will also be built on both sides of the road in order to make it accessible to the housing societies along its route.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif performed the ground-breaking of the project on June 30. The total estimated cost of the project is PKR 21 billion, according to news sources. During the ceremony, the PM announced that the 24-kilometre road will be expanded and made signal-free.
