Dera Ghazi Khan: The Punjab government has decided to organise its first ever three-day ‘Koh-e-Suleman Tourist Festival 2019’ in August, a news source reported. This initiative will focus on developing Fort Munro as major tourist attraction for the visitors.

Dera Ghazi (DG) Khan Commissioner Asadullah Faiz, along with deputy commissioners (DCs) of the four districts, reviewed proposals to this effect during a meeting with DG Khan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCI) President Khuwaja Mohammad Younas. Representatives of different multinational companies were also present at the occasion.
As per reports, the authorities concerned will announce the festival date after finalising necessary arrangements (pertaining to road clearance and sponsorship for the event) with the National Highway Authority (NHA), the Parks & Horticulture Authority (PHA), and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

PHA Director General Azfar Zia informed the meeting that the departments concerned were carrying out construction work on roads and bridges to connect DG Khan and Fort Munro. This rehabilitation project will be completed in the first week of August, he added.
He stated that the authorities concerned recently set up lodgings featuring several hundred rooms, along with other state-of-the-art facilities, for the tourist visiting the area.
In response, Commissioner Faiz stated that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Imran Khan were expected to attend this historic event.

Besides promoting the Koh-e-Suleman mountainous range as a tourist destination, the Punjab government plans to launch similar campaigns in other areas; including Mubaraki Top, Barthi, Hak Bai, Bail Pathar, and Anari Hills.
