Lahore: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Vice Chairman (VC) SM Imran has said that the construction work on the Firdous Market Underpass will be completed in 90 days, according to a news source. He shared the information while speaking to media after visiting the project site.

During the visit, LDA Chief Engineer Habib-ul-Haq Randhawa briefed the VC on project development and land acquisition status. National Engineering Services officials and representatives of project contractor, Maqbool Associates, also attended the briefing session.
The VC further said that feasibility study will be conducted soon for making signal-free corridors and development of underpass and flyover at busy roads and intersection of Lahore including Barkat Market, Karee Block, Akbar Chowk, near Jinnah Hosipital and Shahdara.

Sharing details on Firdous Market Underpass project, VC Imran said that once the underpass completes, the LDA will construct a pedestrian bridge on Jam-e-Shirin Road. The two-lane Firdous Market Underpass will be 540 metres in length and it will facilitate approximately 100,000 vehicles on a daily basis. The project will help ease traffic flow on Centre Point, MM Alam Road, and Cavalry Ground.
