Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to rename the Firdous Market Underpass to the ‘Abdul Sattar Edhi Underpass’ as a tribute to the famous deceased philanthropist and humanitarian, according to a news source published on October 28.

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has already placed the signboard with the new name on the said underpass, while a portrait of its namesake has also been installed in the area. The suggestion to rename the road infrastructure was offered by the Chief Minister Secretariat.
In related news, it was further highlighted that the progress work on the Abdul Sattar Edhi Underpass was not being executed at an ideal pace. The development of the underpass is still to be completed and the design of the underpass’s barrel wall hasn’t yet been finalized either. The barrel road carpeting is also underway.
