Islamabad: A delegation of notables from Lahore called on Prime Minister Imran Khan and pledged to fund the pilot project of five shelter homes announced by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, a news source reported. The delegation included Mian Muhammad Ehsan, Gohar Ijaz, Mian Talat Mehmood, Noor Hazrat, Dr Abdul Bari Khan, Anwaar Ahmed Khan, and Adeel Saeed Mir.
The delegation said they would fund five shelter homes in addition to the existing announced by the government. They also briefed the prime minister on five government-run hospitals are being operated in collaboration with the Indus Health Network, which has also provided PKR 15 billion for construction of a 600-bed state-of-the-art hospital in Lahore.
Prime Minister Imran Khan on his part lauded the social welfare activities of Indus Welfare Network, Sheikh Ijaz Ahmed Trust, Naimat Saleem, Ghani Foundation and other notables.
Members of the business committee present in the meeting also assured Khan of support towards achieving a welfare society as envisioned by him.
Adviser to the Prime Minister Shehzad Arbab and Special Assistant Naeem-ul-Haq also attended the meeting.
