Peshawar: The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has awarded special financial packages to the traders having shops near Firdous and Hashtnagria underpasses being built as a part of the Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit, reported a news source. The shop owners have vacated their properties.
The provincial government has also signed a contract with the owners having shops in the immediate vicinity of these underpasses, according to which shop owners and their employees will be given monthly financial support. The agreement will be renewed once the project is completed.
Reportedly, after vacating these shops, the owners have started to sell off their goods at discounted rates.
Development work on the project is carried out for 16 hours a day under direct orders of the provincial government.
