Islamabad: The Ministry of Finance on Monday proposed a new law under which income tax filers would be able to submit their returns at any time of the year, a news source reported.

According to this proposed legislation, residents submitting their tax returns would be automatically made filers within seven days. Both local and overseas Pakistanis would be able to avail this facility.
The finance ministry will submit the draft of this proposed legislation before the cabinet for approval next week. The law will then be promulgated through a presidential ordinance or the Act of Parliament.

Current laws make it mandatory for the citizens to submit their tax returns till December. The filers can avail these benefits only till April 30.
