Islamabad: The Finance Division has allotted a sum of PKR 5,915 million as per austerity measures for the Ministry of Housing and Works for the current fiscal year 2022-2023 (FY2022-23), according to news published on December 19.

The Ministry of Housing and Works has sought a grant of PKR 9,179 million in order to meet the requirements of the ministry and related departments. As per the details, the Finance Division conveyed the allocated budget to the ministry when the budgetary allocation was approved and finalized in June 2022. It was mentioned that the Finance Division has already imposed austerity on budget allocation and reduced the budget by PKR 55.163 million.

The news source stated that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) was given the task to maintain and renovate Pak Secretariat Islamabad; however, no fund has yet been utilised for the renovation. It was disclosed that no funds have been surrendered to the Finance Division and the allocated funds during the fiscal year 2021-2022 were utilised by the general section.
