Islamabad: The National Assembly has passed the Finance Bill 2018-2019, according to a news report. When the fiscal budget was introduced, both the lower and upper houses debated its various tenets and recommended a host of changes to be incorporated into the bill.
One of the clauses of the bill suggests that overseas Pakistanis sending money more than USD 0.1 million will be questioned about their sources of income. The Finance Minister has also added that only tax filers can maintain dollar accounts, and that an enquiry will be launched by the Federal Revenue Board (FBR) for any person receiving remittances exceeding PKR 10 million.
Finance Minister Miftah Ismail has said that the basic structure of the budget remains the same, and only a few details have been added through this Finance Bill.
