From the last several years, the biggest issue faced by the residents of DHA Lahore is perhaps that of traffic load. During most part of the day, almost all entry and exit points in here receive heavy load of traffic because DHA has expanded immensely in last one decade and most of the rich residents residing here own more than one car. In addition to that, many known places such as McDonald’s, Al Fateh, Depilex, BBQ Tonight, National Hospital, DHA Food Street, Hotspot, Shapes and DHA Cinema also cause additional influx of people from all over the city. All of this was bound to create traffic problems for the society.
In the past, Defence Housing Authority has been taking due steps in fixing the incoming traffic issues for society including the addition of two more entry points for the DHA Phase I & II and III & IV. But none of it seemed enough to deal with the massive inflow of people in DHA. The residents of DHA phase I, II, III and IV have seen the locality transform from a quite, calm and peaceful neighbourhood to a wild, throbbing and much sought after development that continues to expand and become grander. With various news Phases, including Phase VI, VII and VIII ready to abode more dwellers, DHA Lahore need serious traffic management system.
The good news is that the Authority here has decided to address the issue more aggressively by building several underpasses and overhead bridges on DHA’s busy four-ways and entry points. According to details, an amount of 2500 million is reserved for this purpose and the initial plans are also chalked. The Authority has given the contract to NESPAK for preparing a feasibility report on this. These underpasses are meant to reduce the traffic burden on Ghazi Chowk, Masjid Chowk, and Ghazi Road Interchange Phase I, II, III & IV.
The proposed plan also includes suggestions about directing the DHA’s outgoing traffic from Defence Main Boulevard leading to Defence Chowk, Walton Road via underpass or overhead bridge. It has also been especially taken care of that the construction of any of these underpasses and bridge don’t affect the residence and private property of the people. Looks like the residents of DHA will be rescued soon from traffic jam frustration soon.
Its Samuel William Din from Pakistan, Karachi. I am a insurance agent. I never paid income tax and not submitted e filing of tax returns. I borrowed 200000 rupees from my friends and invested in stock exchange. As my friends had sent me money by cross cheques and online transfer, it remained in my and my wife’s account for one year then we invested. Now FBR has sent notices to me and my wife. My wife is staff nurse in Aga Khan Hospital and pays her tax there. But she has not mentioned this investment in her returns.
Now we are in trouble. Please help us and save us from FBR as they are behind me and my wife.
Thanks. Samuel William Din, Karachi.
LEAVING FEW ALL THE INSTITUTES OF THIS COUNTRY HAS A PRICE. ALTHOUGH THIS IS VERY UNFORTUNATE BUT THIS IS HOW THE SYSTEM GOES.
