Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has directed the relevant authorities to finalise the process of legislation and administrative reforms required for the revival of 687 sick industrial units within 60 days – a news source reported.

PM Khan was chairing a meeting of the government’s economic team on Thursday. He issued the directive after he was told that there were 687 industrial units that were dysfunctional but which could be revived through some measures. The meeting was also told that such units could revived through public-private partnership.
Matters relating to the promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) also came under discussion at the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said that his government’s foremost priority was to run the economic system on sustainable basis. He said that the private sector should be engaged in the matter of SMEs and ease of doing should be ensured for the investors.
