Multan: The Excise and Taxation (E&T) Department on Wednesday issued final notices to at least 250 property tax defaulters in the city, a news source reported. Their residential and commercial properties are situated in Lodhi Colony, Nawabpur Road, Haram Gate, Delhi Gate, Pir Khursheed Colony, Lakar Mandi, and Hassan Parwana.
The department has notified these individuals to clear their property dues amounting to PKR 6,155,741, in total. It is pertinent to mention that these dues have remained pending since the last five years.
Meanwhile, the E&T officials have decided to freeze the accounts of property tax defaulters in a bid to recover their dues. For this purpose, a summary was recently forwarded to the Secretary E&T for approval.
