Islamabad: The registration deadline for the government’s flagship Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) low-cost housing initiative is all set to expire tomorrow (January 15), according to news sources. Previously, the executive had continued to roll out multiple extensions to the last date.
According to reports, a total of 1.98 million people have already filed their applications for the programme. The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) expects this number to exceed the two million mark by January 15.

As per the instructions communicated, aspirants can apply for this low-cost housing project via NADRA’s official website or through its e-sahulat outlets against a fee of PKR 250. The authorities have also made it clear that only one member per family can partake in the registration process.

PM Khan had introduced the second phase of the NPHP registration process in July 2019 in his efforts to provide housing solutions to the country’s low-income groups. During the launch ceremony, the PM had announced the federal cabinet’s decision to devise necessary legislation for commercial banks which would enable them to provide a loan facility to NPHP applicants.
