Lahore: Punjab Minister for Housing Mian Mehmood Ur Rasheed received briefing on the 50 million affordable houses project, reported a news source. Rasheed said that the formation of a road map is vital for moving forward with this project.
The meeting, which was attended Akhuwat Foundation Chairman Dr. Amjad Saqib, Housing Secretary and other senior officials, discussed various options including the construction of housing units in katchi abadis. Rasheed also said that the provincial government owns 10,000 kanals of land that can be used for the purpose. The meeting concluded that a steering committee be formed to engage all concerned departments for construction of affordable houses.
