Islamabad: Through a letter dated February 24, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) asked the Capital Development Authority (CDA) for the complete record of payments made to acquire land for Sectors H-16 and I-16. This request for records is a part of the agency’s investigation into a land fraud case.
Reportedly, the case was initiated on February 18 to probe allegations that CDA officials forged signatures and thumb impressions of landowners. According to the accusations, these landowners never received any of the payments or alternate plots.
CDA Spokesperson Ramzan Sajid told reporters that the civic authority is fully cooperating with the FIA.
As per the law, all affectees must be compensated with plots or cash for handing over their land to the CDA.
