Islamabad: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has completed 97% of the forensic audit of housing schemes in the country, reported a news source. The agency was directed by the Supreme Court of Pakistan to share details on data of private housing schemes in Pakistan.
According to the details shared with news media, a total of 234 housing are currently operating without having an NOC procured from the relevant authority in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Out of these, 115 (including 74 cooperative housing societies) are located in Islamabad, 79 cooperative housing schemes in Rawalpindi, 22 in Attock, eight in Chakwal, one in Jhelum, and nine in Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to sources from FIA, flaws in the operation of private housing schemes have also been identified and it will recommend proper investigations and measures on this issue. The next hearing of case by Supreme Court is scheduled on November 2.
