Islamabad: The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) has cautioned the allottees of Sector G-13 of rapid plot cancellations on account of a failure to clear their due delayed construction charge payments after the elapse of 15 days of the stipulated deadline, according to a news source published on July 22.

Reportedly, the allottees of Sector G-13 have waited a decade (from 2008) for the development work completion of the FGEHA’s project, and they are taken aback by the notice informing them of a fourfold increase in the per annum charges for delay in the start of construction work.

Previously, the delay charges were less than PKR 70 per sq yd of plot size and it has risen to PKR 250 per sq yd. This increase will make an allottee with a 7-marla plot to pay PKR 50,000 annually – instead of PKR 12,000.
The authority has stated that this fine is being imposed to prompt construction activity in the Sector G-13. Under clause 23 of the scheme, FGEHA holds the power to issue orders and take decisions in regards to this project.
