Islamabad: The Federal Government Housing Employees Authority (FGEHA) is currently conducting a survey of built-up properties (BUP) in various parts of the city — with the initiative deemed essential for awarding BUPs in Sector G-14/1 and 2, according to a news source published on September 7.

Furthermore, as per the information available, the Land Acquisition Collector (LAC) office of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) has already awarded PKR 1.889 billion worth of compensation for 529 BUPs in Sector G-14/3. However, the FGEHA still requires almost PKR 7 billion to clear up the BUPs dues in Sector G-14/1, 2 and 3.
According to the sources, an official said that the decision to award land in Sector G-14/4 — at the rate of Rs230,000/ kanal for total land sized 1,459 kanals — had been announced in 1995. He added that the decision to award land in Sector G-14/1, 2 and 3 had in turn been announced in 2005, at the rate of PKR 590,000/kanal for 4,820-kanals of land.

The official further revealed that the development work of Sector G-14/1, 2 and 3 had been awarded in 2012 and that the infrastructural rehabilitation and development work in Sector G-14/4 had also been awarded and was being executed at a rapid pace. He added that after the BUP payments have been cleared, the selected areas will be vacated and subsequently developed.
