Lahore: The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) and the Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) government on Sunday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide affordable housing to AJK government employees, a news source reported.

To this effect, a ceremony took place at AJK House Islamabad, where FGEHA Director General (DG) Waseem Hayat Bajwa and AJK Chief Secretary Mathar Niaz Rana signed the MoU. Under the agreement, FGEHA will collaborate with the AJK government for taking concrete measures to provide affordable housing to about 800-1,000 government employees as well as members of the general public.
According to details revealed, both sides have decided on the following housing quota:
- 50% for AJK government officials
- 40% for AJK’s general public
- 10% for government employees having state subject of AJK serving in Pakistan

Authorities concerned expect to begin on-ground construction activities for the said purpose by the end of this year.
