Islamabad: The Planning Wing of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued a letter to the Director General (DG) of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) — stating that the upcoming auction of commercial plots in Sector G-14/4 stands in conflict with the CDA board’s recently undertaken decision regarding the matter, according to news sources.
The FGEHA is expected to auction 14 commercial plots of Class-III shopping centres situated in Sector G-14/4 and Sector G-13 today (December 18) at a hotel in Islamabad.

The CDA letter stated that a no-objection certificate (NoC) issued to the FGEHA included the clause that declared that all commercial plots in these sectors would be allocated to the development authority on an actual cost basis; allowing it to fund maintenance efforts in these sectors.
CDA asked FGEHA to refrain from proceeding with the plot auction in order to avoid complications that could arise from accruing third party rights in public interest and the financial implications of the decision.

FGEHA spokesperson Nasir Chaudhary confirmed media speculations, however; he stated that the auction would take place as per routine. He said that the generated amount would be used for the maintenance of G-13 and G-14. He added that a reply to the CDA letter would be issued soon.
