Islamabad: The Federal Government Employee Housing Authority (FGEHA) Karachi office – a subsidiary of the Ministry of Housing and Works – has given federal government employees possession of apartments developed by the authority, news sources reported on February 19. The flats are located in Karachi’s Sector B-24 Scheme 33 and Gulzar Hijri.

According to reports, the flats were built by the FGEHA Karachi Office as part of the government’s low-cost housing initiative. The ceremony for handing over the possession papers took place in Karachi, and the project director, assistant director maintenance, and assistant director civil were in attendance.

During the event, it was declared that the government is committed to extending housing subsidies and would expand schemes for federal government employees. It was also reported that the government had begun a programme to offer roofs to persons who could not afford to buy their own homes. It is worth noting that the FGEHA has initiated various housing projects for federal government employees. The initiatives are being introduced in all four provincial capitals as well as the federal capital.
